ABOUT MARJANA

Marjana Chowdhury, a trailblazer for Bangladeshi women on the global stage, made history as the first-ever Miss Grand Bangladesh in 2021, representing the country during its debut at Miss Grand International. Prior to this, she was crowned Miss Asia Pacific Bangladesh 2018, achieving a historic Top 20 placement at the Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 competition—the first Bangladeshi to earn an international placement till date. Marjana began her journey in pageantry as Miss Bangladesh US 2016, earning the title after a stellar performance in Chicago, Illinois.

Beyond pageantry, Marjana balances her professional and personal roles with grace. She is currently a Vice President at BlackRock, a loving mother, and a proud Columbia University graduate. Marjana is deeply committed to giving back to her community. As a member of the Student Leadership Network (SLN) and its CollegeBound Initiative (CBI), she has been mentoring underprivileged middle and high-school students in navigating the college admissions process since graduating as an SLN and CBI alum in 2011. She also serves on the organization’s junior board, Next Gen.

Marjana’s contributions to the Miss Bangladesh US Organization and her country are unparalleled. She has proudly elevated the platform, setting a high standard for Bangladeshi women worldwide with her groundbreaking achievements and unwavering dedication to empowering others.
